Crafters' gonna craft.

Sun Feb 6, 2011, 2:15 AM
Golly, gee.  It's been so long since I've submit anything original and artistic here!  Sorry 'bout that folksies, I've been in a bit of a creative slump lately as far as drawing goes.  But fear not faithful followers!  A friend and I have begun work on a comic and the inspiration has begun to flow once more.  By the end of this week and in the weeks following I'll be sharing with you part of my creative process, in addition to more bead stuff and maybe some poetry or something.

I've been meaning to do Punchbiscuit and Dukes' reintroduction into the SDL for months now but, like I said, I've been in a creative slump. :(
I also will be practicing facial expressions and body language and will submit some collages along the way.  The gal who does the "Lackadaisy" comics, Tracy J. Butler ([link]) has got me eager and determined to improve my skills in that area.

In other, non art-related news;  So far I enjoy the Colorado winter much more than the Minnesota one (less snow, warmer temps, clearer skies).  I crashed my Scion xB into a guardrail one icy evening coming home from work and it's been three weeks already and the collision place said it'll still be one more before they're finished with the repairs. (O__O)  Ug.
Been playing a lot of Fallout: New Vegas, and more recently Super Meat Boy and Minecraft.  All great games I highly recommend!

I miss my friends back home.  So I'm looking forward to Summer time when you all come out to visit!  It'll be fucking awesome!  I guarantee!

-peace?

Sure!
I mean, without money I can't guarantee my best work or adhere to a strict timeline.
BUT, let me know what you'd like to see and I'll give it a shot! :D

Yes. I've finally gotten around to doing it!

Sorry ive been pretty bad at keeping in contact. I dont talk to luke anymore (kind of had a falling out since he moved in with matthew...) so i really lost connection with everyone and everything on that side. Hope colorado is still treating you well, will you be visiting minnesota again anytime soon?

Colorado is still great, but I'm getting real homesick now after the guys (Dave, Harris, Luke, Trav, Trent & Brook, & Jesse) all came out to visit for a week. It was wonderful and really felt like I was home again, which only emphasized the "it's not where you are it's who you're with" philosophy for me. So now I'm tentatively planning a move, either back to MN or possibly FL or CA sometime around June or July next year.
I've been terrible at keeping up with things here on DeviantArt. Facebook gets most of my attention, and even then it's mostly just to see how others are doing. I haven't been making much art lately, just some bead art stuff and some caricatures for a guy that owns one of the bars in town (but he hasn't paid me yet :shakefist:). Instead of Dominos I now work at the Munchin' House, an ice cream, candy, and fudge place in downtown Estes. & I have my own (tiny) cabin here in town now too, which is nice.

I don't know when I'll be in Minnesota next... Christmas at the latest. Hopefully once before then, possibly around my birthday. I'll let you know. :)

Have fun at the derby(s)!

It's good. The scenery is amazing; forests, mountains, streams, hills, and animals everywhere you look! And it's not to far from modern comforts like superstores and chain restaurants. Food is a little on the spendy side, but it's usually quality stuff (except for the Subways, they taste like 2-day-old leftovers of the Subways in Minnesota).
There are elk EVERYWHERE. In and around town, yards, ranches, and fields... everywhere. And they aren't bothered or spooked by people at all. Lots of deer and foxes too, and a few days ago I passed a small herd of bighorn rams that were grazing on the side of the road. It was very cool.

Sorry I missed you at the Renfest! (I happened to be in town that weekend) Trying to get that many people to focus on one thing, like meeting up with another group, is like herding chillas. I really wanted to see your outfit in person, so I'm glad you're posting pictures. It looks really cool!

The only real negative about being out here is that I don't get to see all my friends and loved ones, so any time you want to come visit you're more than welcome to! And bring other people along too, there is plenty of space!
